I am a bit of an avocado fan 🙂 They have a unique fresh flavour that compliments different kinds of food.
Over the years, I have enjoyed avocados in many ways including in a green salad, in a sandwich with sun-dried tomatoes, in a dip my Grandmother makes, on banana bread, and on Arnott’s Vita-Weat crackers. I am yet to try it with scrambled eggs, but I have heard that combination is good too.
I cut one up last night and had it as a late night snack on some Vita-Weats. It’s interesting eating these two together, because as I chew I am always conscious of the stark difference of the soft avocado and crisp cracker. This quick and convenient snack really fills the spot, and is healthy too.
My gorgeous baby niece, my cousin’s baby, is also becoming a fan of avocados. On Sunday she ate her third food solid; some mashed up avocado. Although she is new to solids, she enjoyed the taste of the avocado, and managed to decorate her lovely dress with a green spot too! 😀
A couple weeks ago when I was at the Bright Rotary’s Monster Street Market, there was a stall selling avocados. The lady there began telling me of the different kinds of avocado, which have different shapes and tastes. I am keen to further understand, and taste, these varieties. I’ll be sure to share with you all what I find out about this amazing fruit!
